Unit Operation and Electrical Hook-up Information

Electric powered refrigerated containers are easy to hook up and operate.  By following the simple operational guidelines you will experience trouble free operation for the most part.

Proper Unit Operation

1) Setting temperature:  Push the arrow up/down key to desired temperature--press enter.
2) Change defrost interval: Push defrost interval button--push arrow up/down button to find desired interval(3, 6, 12, 24 hours). When keeping products below freezing, defrosting is necessary to avoid ice build up on the eveporator coils.  Defrosting should be more frequent when the doors are open often or for long periods of time, and if warm product is loaded on container.
3) Ice build up on the coils is the number 1 cause of cooling problems.  This can be prevented by proper operation.  Reduce the door openings and the amount of time door is left open.  Always turn off the refrigeration unit while the door is open. If you are keeping a low temp load and are in a humid climate, strip curtains are recommended at the rear door. Increasing the defrost interval is good option if you experience cooling problems.
4) Push the manual defrost switch if you are experiencing cooling problems, many times this will fix the problem.
5) Call A & M Cold Storage if the Alarm light is on.
6) Unit shuts off:  check power source, check breakers, check breaker on transformer, check to make sure plugged in properly, check for cable damage.
7) Floor should be free of debris and Ice.  Cool supply air is sent out of the unit at floor level and can be blocked by ice or debris in the T floor.
